Chemo, round 2

Second round of chemo today. It went pretty well. Inserting the needle into the port was a lot less painful this time. The first time, it was still tender from the surgery, but now I’ve had 3 weeks to heal up, I barely felt it.

Then it was just 4 hours of having toxic chemicals inserted into me. I watched a couple of movies on my spiffy DVD player and then came home. Immediately after the chemo, I didn’t feel too bad.. but now it’s been a while, the nausea is starting to pick up a little and I’m feeling really really tired, so it’s definitely taken a lot out of me. I’ve taken some fairly strong nausea drugs and I’ll take some more before bed, and hopefully I’ll be able to keep it under control..

On the hair front, the rapid hair loss has stopped. I still have a reasonable amount of hair. It’s just much much thinner than before. Depending on whether of not the large scale loss picks up again, I may or may not decide to shave the whole lot off soon. I’ll be sure to upload a picture when I do :)

Woohoo!

Today at work, I found out that our application for an L1-A visa has been approved which clears the path for us to get our green card.. this is a piece of news we’ve been waiting for for a while and the outcome pretty much decided whether or not we’d be able to continue living here, so this outcome is really good news. Woohoo!

Hair today, gone tomorrow.

I just can’t help it with the bad puns. Oh well. It had to happen sooner or later. My hair started falling out this morning in the shower. I knew it was coming, but it was still fairly disturbing to run fingers through my hair and have clumps of it come out. Not sure how long it will take but I suspect I’ll be as bald as.. er, an eagle, soon.
