Went to see the doctor this morning to get the results of the PET scan. On the plus side, what they thought might still be cancerous in my neck is not. Unfortunately, the PET scan revealed another mass in my pelvic area which hadn’t raised concerns on the CT. This means I have to do another 2 rounds of chemo, which is kind of gutting since I thought I was done with that. The chemo is pretty horrible, and I’m not looking forward to starting it again.
It’ll be a different type of chemo this time. Instead of 1 day, I’ll go in every day for 3 days. About 4 hours on the first day, on the second day they fit me with a portable pump which I’ll carry around with me for 24 hours while it pumps some more drugs into me, then on the third day they take it out, and do another dose of another drug. The idea with doing a different type of chemo is a safeguard in case the cancer is becoming resistant to the previous drugs.
So, yeah, starting on the 11th, I’m back into it, then a 3 week gap, then another treatment, and maybe then we’ll be done.
