Columbia gorge photos

On Sunday I drove down to Oregon to take photos at the Columbia gorge. I actually put them online yesterday, but LJ was being weird and I couldn’t post. Anyway, here are the photos from that shoot. I’m not wildly happy with many of them, although a couple came out quite nicely. There was a lot of haze, so the distance shots aren’t as spectacular as they could have been. I learned a lot about my camera though, so that will come in handy on my next shoot.

Next weekend, I’m planning on heading over to the Olympic peninsula with to do some shooting up at Hurricane ridge. Although, I’d like to do something more than landscape shooting, so I think the next destination after that will need to be something different. Maybe go back to the zoo in Seattle to cover the animals we didn’t have time for on the last visit, or find some other destination entirely. We’ll see what comes up!

Anyway, in the meantime, here’s an example photo from the Columbia gorge set:

Lots of shooting

Drove down to Portland today and did some photo shooting at the Columbia gorge. I have about 100 photos to sort through and select the ones worthy of being put online, but in the meantime, here’s a gratuitous infrared shot,

Today I have…

Gone shopping with Sarah and bought 2 new pairs of shorts
Repaired a table which was slowly pulling itself to pieces
Cleaned the barbecue and replaced the flavour bricks
Tidied the living room and kitchen
Marinated some chicken for dinner (olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, a little thyme)
Unloaded the dishwasher, loaded it again
Emptied the draining rack, done more washing up

I used to hate the heat of summer, but it’s starting to grow on me. This evening, I’ll bbq the chicken and we’ll have that with some salad. After that, I might just stroll down to our pool and have a nice cooling swim. Tomorrow I’m driving over the mountains to the Columbia gorge to do some more photo shooting with a friend from work.

Life is good :)
