Going to California

I’ve never wireless-blogged before, so what the hell. Currently killing time at Seatac waiting for a flight.

Off to the MySQL conference in San Jose. If there’s anyone on my FL in the area who wants to hook up for a beer or such, shoot me an email.

Alaska overbooked the flight and asked people to volunteer for a later flight in exchange for first class tickets and a free roundtrip anywhere they fly. The three of us (me and 2 workmates) agreed to take it.. so now we’re just waiting for the next flight. I wonder if that one is overbooked, maybe we can trade up again. First class on a later flight and 1 meeeellion dollars! I’ll have to ask. Will update later.

    Well of course I’m here.

I’m sad that I’m not going this year, I didn’t get around to registering, etc.

Maybe I can con the boss into letting me go anyway and expensing it. Hmmm….

Email me your phone number (james at globalmegacorp dot org) and I’ll give you a call.. If you manage to make it to the conference, we can hook up and do lunch and stuff..

It would be when I’m up in Oregon, wouldn’t it?

I will in fact be there! I just got the go-ahead to expense the $1500 registration, and just finished putting it through. I’ll see you tomorrow.

I’ll be attending the MySQL 5.0 Certification tutorials tomorrow (I stupidly didn’t go for them last year, and I continue to regret it).

    See you tmmw!

Wanna come down to Santa Cruz and go to Kiva? It’s tradition and all, I believe I took your wife there :)

What is Kiva? And sure, why not? Doing anything tonight? :)

It’s a wonderfully zen hot tub place. Clothing optional, big communal tub, smaller redwood quiet tub, huge sauna, cold plunge (from which I stay *way* away…) – just a great Santa Cruz kind of place :)

Are you mobile as in do you have transpo? I’d be available after 8 (teaching a knitting class until then, unfortunately). Tomorrow and Wednesday nights are clear on my calendar as well.
